Robert James Shupe

Robert James Shupe was born in 1963. At the time, his parents were living at 240 North Main, Port Deposit, MD. He was abandoned by his mother at the age of 15-18 months. The story is she left him at the baby sitter’s house but took his older half sister (maybe 3 or 4 years old) with her. Her husband was coming home from the service and she couldn’t let him know about having a child that was not his. She and James were not married. James was a truck driver. When he returned home, he discovered that Ruth Elizabeth was gone and left Robert behind. Since he was in no position to raise a child, he gave Robert to Joseph and Juanita Quinn for them to raise him. They never changed Robert’s last name. Both parents would have been in their early to mid 20s at the time of Robert’s birth. As an adult, Robert did get to meet his father; however, he has never met his mother. Robert’s youngest son has a major medical condition and needs desperately to find medical history from both sides of the family.
