A photo of Christmas 1896 taken by E. Donald Roberts, Jr. Obviously, this is a staged portrait entitled "Kris Kringle's Confederate" but it's probably representative of the era - and it's just a plain neat photo. The kids are having a blast with the toys and look at the beard on "Kris Kringle's" confederate!
