I definitely think that there were fewer distractions back then -- more adherence to older traditions. Nice , really. Lots of time was put into things like church suppers, picnics.

- Now part of Kansas City Kansas, I see. I was in Kansas City Missouri from 1977 to 1983, and in 1981 lived in a 7th floor apartment at "Quality Hill" a bluff which overlooked the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers. At night, the view over into Kansas City Kansas, with little lights as far as you could see, was beautiful.

Seriously? This may be the most obviously fake thing I've seen in a very long time. There was never a US flag with that star configuration... It's most certainly not the flag from 1923. If you are going to claim to be patriotic, please at the very least know the history of the flag.
Jamie,
My mom is holding a 46 star flag not a 48 star flag but the photo was taken in 1923. The stars configuration in this photo is identical to a 46 star flag (July 04, 1908 to July 04 1912) It is not "obviously fake" as you claim, just a mistake on my part. I just thought it was a 48 star because of the date the photo was taken (my mistake). I do know the history of the flag and the configuration of the stars and by the way I am patriotic but not a callous arrogant a** when pointing out an honest mistake. You might want to brush up on your educational history of the flag.
