Sidney Benoit of Cameron, Cameron County, Louisiana was born on August 16, 1915 to Joseph Benoit and Emerante Marie (Savoie) Benoit. He had siblings Hilary "Eli" Benoit, Margaret (Benoit) Trahan, Demosthane Benoit, Annie Mable (Benoit) Nunez, Evelyn Marie (Benoit) Constance, Cecile Ruby Benoit, Melanie Mecile (Benoit) LaBove, William Frank Benoit, and Ervin Albert Benoit. He married Anastazie (Dyson) Benoit on July 7, 1947, and had children Floyd Lee Benoit, Glenda Marie (Benoit) McClelland, Andrew W. Benoit, and Donald E. Benoit. Sidney Benoit died at age 72 years old on August 22, 1987.
