Anna Mary Gates
Anna Mary Gate was the eldest daughter of Henry Augustine and his wife Caroline Cynthia (Riddle) Gates born on Halloween 1892 in the small town (that was named after her Grandfather John Welcome Riddle) Welcome Washington. Her Grandparents were pioneers to Whatcom County Washington having arrived there in 1886 from Texas. Her father worked in the mines and was a logger for some years and became a big part of the agriculture industry in Whatcom county. Anna Mary married Edward David Kline on the 19th of November 1910 less then 3 weeks after she turned 18. Her mother had married at 15 at wouldn't allow Anna to get married until she was 18. To this union 8 children were born 5 girls and 3 boys. At 41 years old she went into surgery for toxic goiter and 1hour and 45 minutes after surgery she died of shock. She was buried at the Welcome Cemetery. Anna is my 2nd Great Grandmother from her eldest daughter Cynthia Caroline (Callie) Kline McSorley. I am going to share a couple pictures of her 2 of them are very special to me in that they have 8 generations of eldest daughters in my family in which I am the 2nd to youngest and my daughter is the baby
