The Gateway Arch - Early 1970's
This is a photo of the Gateway Arch that was taken when the Arch was still fairly new. My mom and several other members of my family had spent some time in Saint Louis after visiting family in central Louisiana.
Note how bare the park surrounding the Arch appears. The trees and grass had not yet appeared, and the area around the Arch wasn't as developed (especially considering that legalized riverboat gambling was still a number of years away).
Date & Place: at Jefferson National Expansion Park in Saint Louis, Missouri United States
