Elizabeth Henrietta ... was born in Swartsburg, Germany, and married Ludwig Carl in Germany. His picture appears elsewhere on this site. According to a biographical history of their grandson, William C. Carl, in the CENTENNIAL BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY, Ludwig emigrated to the United States in 1840 and shortly thereafter to Columbus, Ohio.
