Tony A. Macioroski, age 91, of Terry passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at Prairie Community Nursing Home in Terry.
Tony was born June 6, 1922 in Terry to Alex and Alice (Chesney) Macioroski. He attended Valley View county schools and worked on the family ranch until entering the U.S. Army in 1942. During WWII he served in Europe with the 3rd Army in the 6th Armored Division with General George Patton. He served in the Army for 3 years being honorably discharged in 1945.
Upon returning from the Army, Tony married Vernette Christianson on June 4, 1947 and worked for Standard Oil Co. for 20 years and then carried U.S. Mail and was the caretaker for the Prairie County Cemetery. During the 1950’s he worked as a Day Cop and Night Cop for Terry.
In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by his wife Vernette, brothers Albert, Chet, Tom, Stan, Elmer, Roy, Peter, Joe Macioroski and sisters, Josephine Macioroski, and Alma Mothershead. He is survived by his son Robert (Bonnie) Macioroski of Florence, daughter Sheila (Randy) Thilmony of Baker, sisters Alice (Leon) Gothard of Terry and Barbara Macioroski of Terry as well as 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
