Valery Alleman (Mallett) Jordan was born on January 21, 1945 to Lora (O'Blanc) Mallett LeJuene and Lawrence Edward Mallett, and had siblings Nolan James Mallett, Carolyn Virginia (Mallett) Gary, Barbara Ann Mallett, Nadine Marie (Mallett) Doucet, Sherry Ann (Mallett) Theriot, Laura Ann (Mallett) Stanfeild, Lawrence Joseph Mallett, Ervin Ray Mallett, Marvin William Mallett, and Debbie Ella (Mallett) LeJeune. She married Harold Joseph Guidry, and they were married until Harold's death on June 13, 1993. She had children Corrina (Guidry) Scott Hoffpauir and Brandon Shane Jordan.
