Quiet, honorable, fair man. He played and enjoyed watching football. Loved poetry, literature, music and opera. Worked for the USDA 45 years. Followed cotton checking as it moved West. Loved gardening and fishing in Arkansas. Great at mathematics self-taught. Very kind and gentle self-made man but very masculine and I afraid. Hard worker and a good husband and fantastic father. A truly good man. Methodist and Presbyterian religion. This man lived his religion by his actions in life. A staunch Democrat for life.
