The school was once the palace of Tsar Alexander III and the Empress Consort Maria Feodorovna in Nice. Their son, the Tsarevich Nicolas II spent his childhood there with his parents. There is a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church nearby which was built by Tsar Nicholas for his use when he was in Nice.
