Wilbert William Gentz Obituary
Wilbert William, age 75, of Prior Lake. Survived by wife, Merece; son, Greg & wife Lynda Gentz of Chaska; daughter, Kris & husband Carter Anderson of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Deanna, Elise, Kevin and Ryan; sisters, Betty Fennern of Wanda, Norma Wall of Springfield; brothers, Walter of Springfield, Victor & Lois of Springfield, William & Kayla of Sleepy Eye.

Visitation Tuesday, 4-8 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, and one hour prior to service at church. Funeral Wed., 10 am, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Prior Lake.

Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. Ballard-Sunder Prior Lake 612-447-2633

Wilbert William Gentz
Wilbert William Ghentz was born to parents William Ferdinand Gentz and Bertha Krueger on May 28, 1924, in Springfield, Minnesota. He grew up in Bashaw, Brown County, Minnesota, in a large family with older siblings Walter, Victor, and Elda, as well as younger siblings Norma, William, and Betty. He was baptized in a Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota. Wilbert enlisted in the US Army as a private on February 1, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He served as a TEC 5 in the US Army, with his service beginning on February 1, 1945, and ending with his discharge on November 15, 1946. He was a veteran of World War II. After his military service, he married Merece Lucille Hogberg (1925–2018) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together, they had a daughter, Kristine Ann Ghentz (1953-2013), and a son. Wilbert Ghentz passed away on July 18, 1999, in Prior Lake, Scott County, Minnesota.
