Actor William Hurt (1950-2022) died yesterday in Portland Oregon of natural causes according to one of his 4 children.

From "The Big Chill" to "Body Heat" to "Kiss of the Spider Woman" to "Avengers: Infinity War" he was a working actor on Broadway, films, and television. What is your favorite performance?

William McChord Hurt's mother was Claire Isabel McGill (1923-1971 and worked for TIme Inc) and his father was Alfred McChord Hurt (1910-1996 and worked for the State Dept & US Agency for International Development). He had 2 brothers. After his parents divorced in 1960, his mother married Henry Luce III He attended Julliard and his film debut was in "Altered States" This was followed by roles in Body Heat, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Children of a Lesser God and Broadcast News - and what babyboomer didn't relate to "The Big Chill" (`1983)? In addition to a string of movie roles, his family life was full. He married Mary Beth Supinger (married 1971, divorced 1982) and Heidi Henderson (married 1989, divorced 1992) and had 4 children. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
