Heinrich, Maria und Arnold
My grandfather Arnold Prellwitz took some serious aggressions during war because his political positions about government. He was "interrogated" by SS a few times, and then had this broken appearance (he is on the right).
Considering his health and the huge crack on the wall behind, this picture should have been taken near 1945, not earlier than this.
Can't say if their house is still standing at this point. Could even be this building on photo, but I can't precise.

Maria Klara Baier was my grandmother. She was married with Arnold Prellwitz and gave birth to Heinrich Arnold Friedrich Prellwitz. Lived in Germany during World War I and II. She witnessed his husband been beaten by SS soldiers, the Allied bombing of Germany, and only when his husband left this world she accepted to leave a destroyed country with his son to try to survive on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She never forgot what happened in Germany, many nights she jumped out of the bed to hide his son from the soldiers.
Loved his grandson with all her heart, until the end. And is loved back.
