Joey Ballantyn: Ventura & Santa Barabara CA Friends...Aloha, my name is Laura (Van Winkle) Mascari, I was a friend of Joey Ballantyne many moons ago. I am so shocked and sadden to hear the news of his death in 2011. I was searching the web and found his obituary in the Santa Barbara Independent News. We were just kids 17-20 year olds....playing at the beach. Surfing, exploring & hiking Ojai, camping, bomb fire parties at the beach, ATV rides in the sand dunes of Ventura Beach. Fantastic times back then, carefree and having the best times of our lives! I dated his best friend at the time Tim Patterson. We were all such good friends and inseparable, we did everything together. Joey was a great person, fun, honest and had a wonderful heart and best
sense of humor, so very sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to Joe’s family. I now live in Hawaii and ran into his sister Salina(-SP?), it has been 30 years.
