Robert Zane Bevers

Robert Zane Bevers was born 24 June 1921 in Lakeview, Hall Co., Texas and died 19 June 1996 in Cisco, Eastland Co., Texas. He married Alice Pauline Vallance daughter of the late Henry Greene Vallance and Anna Jennettie Pearl Vallance of Plaska, Hall Co., Texas on 16 February 1940. They were the parents of three children. Robert served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII. He was fortunate to survive the war and returned to Memphis, Texas and joined his family after VJ Day in 1945.

This picture is of the late Robert Zane Bevers and Alice Pauline Vallance with their son Albert Don Bevers of Memphis, Hall Co., Texas. Robert was on weekend pass prior to shipping out to the pacific during WWII. He was fortunate to survive the war and returned to Texas after VJ Day sometime in late 1945. He worked at the John Vallance Food Store as a meat cutting specialist before moving to Lubbock, Texas. He and Pauline were salespeople until retirement for two different cooking wear companies. They were very successful and were awarded salesman of the year many times. In addition to Albert they were the parents of another son and daughter. Robert is buried in Cisco, Eastland Co., Texas
