Donna M (Lamboglia) Bocklet was born to Anthony S. Lamboglia (1932-2018) and Joan Geraldine Larocca (1934 - 1991). Her mother was born in New York. She had five siblings, including Paul M. Lamboglia (1968 - 2016).
Donna Lamboglia married Richard M. Bocklet, a nurse, and they had 2 children - Ryan, who was 9 when she died, and Dana, who was 6.
Donna was reported as missing by her husband, who organized a search party. A member of the search party spotted her maroon 1994 Plymouth Voyager van in a Waldbaum's supermarket which was about 8 miles from her home. After the searchers smashed the driver's side window, they entered the van and found Donna's body. Her pocketbook and some jewelry were missing. Scroll down to read an early report of her death.
One of the searchers, a neighbor of the Bocklet family, was arrested for her murder. The police deduced that Anthony C Libardi, age 56, who had been a long-time neighbor - as a teen, Donna had babysat for his family - had developed a fixation on Donna. When she rebuffed him, he strangled her. This occurred in her home. Libardi then put her body in her van and moved the van to the parking lot where it was found.
Found and arrested in Las Vegas NV where he had fled, Libardi was convicted of second degree murder on February 24, 1999. He appealed the conviction in January 2004 but the original judgement was affirmed. You can see a copy of his appeal at People v Anthony C. Libardi. Libardi died in prison in 2005, while serving his 25 year to life sentence prison term.
