Name Origin

The Serbian brotherhood Bogunovic came from Stara Raska [ 1 ] and the present areas of northern Montenegro ( referring to the Old Herzegovina ), which was conquered / liberated in 1876. , in the war against the Turks by the Serbs ( in Montenegro ), led by their chief Njegosh Nikola I Petrovic (1840-1921), Prince of Montenegro (reigned: 1860-1910), and later the king (ruled: 1910 - 1918).
The Bogunovic family, are a clan which emerged out of the Serbian noble family "Nemanjica", which can also be called a " tribe ". There are 36 different families that compose the Bogunovic clan or tribe.
