One Elling Nilss. Burkeland was sheriff/lensmann from ca 1640-1678. Otherwise not any significant to this day. There were originally two farms here, from around 1800 split into 7. Several families earlier named Burkeland. Today only three living here. Magnar Burkeland with family, Owner of farmnumber 4, Albert Johan with family in seperate properties. Arne Johan farm nmb. 7. The first two descendants of Michael/Michal 1869-1939. Rasmus and Dordi not related to them. Farm 4, Anders married to Brita 1813, Mikael 1815-1856, Anders 1840-1924, Michael 1869-1939, Albert 1901-1969, Magnar 1936-, sons Michael 1962, Eivind 1965 and two sister Anne Karen 1961 and Sollaug1971.

My husbands grandfather died near 69 years, his son Albert 68, but Michael 1869-1939 had several siblings reaching between 80 and 92 years. My husband Magnar is nearly 79 years. He is son of Albert. His greatgrandfather Anders M. died in 1924, 84 years old.
