Updated Caratu Biographies

I first crossed paths with Caratu when I was 5 yrs old. I sat under my cousin's piano while he gave her a piano lesson and though he said he would never take a student below the age of 8, he started me at 6yrs old. Looking back these 50 yes later, while I was talented and had perfect pitch, I must not have been the easiest student! Caratu had the patience of a saint and through my years of lessons he not only taught me to play the piano, and prepare for entrance into my specialized music school and later music college, but he taught me to appreciate the beauty of music. He taught me to really hear. I will never forget him telling me that anyone can listen to music but not everyone hears it, here's the feelings, the soul of the composer. He was also a wonderful person outside of his teaching persona. He was such a talented pianist. To look at him, always dressed to the nines in his 3 piece suits, he carried himself so easily with such confidence. I met with him at his home shortly before he passed. He was still Caratu. Always would be. I miss him.
