My Grandfathers name was Phillip Sing Wong and at one time he lived in aneaneku near Papakolea, he had a sister named Carie. They were the only children of a chinese immagrant named Wong Sing and a kauai woman named Helen Iliwaalani.
I was told that everyone called my grandfathers sister, aunty Seemoi. She married a man from Papakolea whose last name was Palenapa, I'm not sure but it may have been either Walter or Henry. I don't know specifics but I know they had a daughter named Rachel as well as other children. My kupunas mentioned that aunty Rachel was a bit tomboyish and rugged. I have never met my grandAunty Carie or her family but we probably passed somewhere in public. I've always wondered about my grandfathers family and I hope to one day know more so I could pass this lost knowledge down to my grand children their great, great grandchildren.
