Chinitz is the other spelling. Only daughter to Meyer Chinitz and Adele Salow, and stepmother Anna Chinitz, sister to Harry Chinitz. Aunt to Diane, Carolyn and Ron Chinitz. Meyer 1871-1941, Anna 1871-1942, both are buried in ( Colma ) San Francisco California, both from Starobin Belarus. Before the invasion of the German killers of 1941-42, Starobin Belarus was well over 50% Jewish and over 28% named Chinitz, still today a cemetary remains with Chinitz headstones. Ethel was Naturalized in 1939. Meyer arrived in U.S. In 1900. Anna arrived with Ethel in 1903 through Holland. Meyer's fathers name was Hershel or Harry, and Anna's maiden name was Schmurack. Mehlich Schmurack and Freda ( Schmurack ) Abramovich the parents of Anna Chinitz. Meyer's possible mothers name; Sarah Riva Epstein. A Dr Chinitz was a partisan leader of renown in the Belarusian forests fighting against the German killers, and a terribly moving account from Birkineau of one of Anna's relatives ( Schmurack ) is told in some written accounts. Ethel's Uncle named Chinitz, was a leader and caregiver among prisoners at Majdanek, and lost his life there at the hands of the German killers. Ethel's great-great-greatGrandfather was the Vilna Gaon. Diane, Carol, and Ron live in California as of 2015.
