MY WONDERFUL GRANDMOTHER...ANTOINETTE CAME FROM ITALY IN THE 1920S AND LIVED IN WATERBURY CONNECTICUT...HER NAME AT THAT TIME WAS ANTOINETTE CIVARELLA..SHE HAD 4 CHILDREN - SHE MARRIED JOSEPH PISANO IN 1930.THEY HAD FOUR CHILDREN LUCY,MICHAEL,MARIE AND JOANN...ANTONIETTE WAS AMONG THE MOST GIVING PEOPLE I HAVE EVR KNOWN.HER HOUSE ON 214TH STREET IN THE BRONX WAS ALWAYS FILLED WITH VISITORS (the paisans) ,FAMILY AND NEIGHBORHOOD FRIENDS.SHE SACRIFICED FOR HER HUSBAND AND CHILDREN,BAKED BREAD AND PIZZA WEEKLY,ATTENDED CHURCH AND WAS ENAMORED OF HER DISTANT COUSIN PADRE PIO..TOWARD THE END OF HER LIFE SHE WAS WIDOWED (iN 1976) AND QUICKLY THEREAFTER SUFFERED FROM CANCER,AND PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY OF 1978. THIS WAS A LOVING PERSON...GOOD HEARTED,KIND AND FUNNY...I LOOK BACK AND STILL MISS HER AND THINK ABOUT HER OFTEN.
