Gustave Theodore Damis is the child of Mary Rosen (1892-1983) and Theros Theodore Damis (1890-1926). His birth certificate says his name is Nicolas. No one in his family ever knew this until they saw the actual birth certificate. He was born at 4:29 pm on January 29, 1921 in Cleveland Ohio. He had siblings Georgina (1913-2002), James Theodore (1915-1974), Andrew Theodore (1916-1987), and Margery Mary (1919-1969). He also had half siblings Peter George Bouldis (1928-2006) and Angelo Bouldis (died 1929).
On July 27, 1941 he married Pierina Agnes Paolucci (1923-2011) at the Greek Church in Canton, Ohio. They had children Theodora Agnes (1942-1996), Louis Patrick (1944-2006) and another daughter. His nickname was "Famous Gus Damis". Gus was an entrepreneur and he owned several businesses. He had a restaurant, a used car company called "Damis used cars", a Honda Haven, Damis Motors, and an antique resale shop. He owned many of the items from Meyer's Lake Amusement Park.
Gus then joined the military on March 13, 1943 in Fort Hayes Columbus. He and his first wife Pierina divorced in March of 1951, and he then went on to re-marry that same month of March in 1951 to Josephine Jellel (1929-2000). They had children together including a son named Kenneht Lynn (1953-2022) and Gary who was born in 1948.
On March 7, 2000 Gustave Theodore Damis passed away of malignant mesothelium, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, Ohio near the rest of his family.
