Leroy Arthur 'Roy' Pixley (1886-1971)

My grandfather was born in Old Badger Mills, Wisconsin. He married Mary May Dellnow and lived in Kansas and Nebraska before later moving to California. Their son Melvin Arthur is my father. His father deserted the family; he was adopted by his grandfather James M. Pixley and raised by James and his second wife Clara Ball. The Pixley line goes back to the 17thC from England to Massachusetts. Clara Frances Lancet

My great-grandmother was born in Putnam Co. Indiana and later lived in Omaha, Nebraska. NOTE: She married Charles Edward Dellnow who for some unknown reason changed his name c1906 to John Henry Brown-along with her name and of their children. However, she could also be seen listed later sometimes as Clara Dellnow and Clara Brown. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. Their daughter Mary May (born Dellnow) is my grandmother.

(AKA John Henry Brown?) (1863-1936): My great-grandfather was born in Ohio, married Clara F. Lancet and eventually settled in Omaha, Nebraska. NOTE: For some unknown reason c1906 he changed his name to John Henry Brown-and the names of his wife and children to 'Brown'. Why was this done? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Leroy Arthur Pixley, lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and later moved to California.
