My last name is Tringo. I was told by my father that his father, my grandfather, came over from Salerno, Italy in the early 20th century. At that time there were many immigrants coming from Italy and other places and the name Trinca was misspelled as Tringo, which it has remained as to this day. Whether or not this is true is not known. My father would often tell simple stories to answer a child's question quickly and as a way to satisfiy his or her curiosity. Dad could be a joker at times. Though, at almost 66, I've yet been able to find the name Tringo or its meaning anywhere.
