He married Frances CHITTY who was born at Grahamstown South Africa in 1841.
Frances was 18 years old when they married in 1859.
Frances died at Leederville W.A on the 5 November 1912, aged 71 years.
Frederick James FARRINGDON was a soldier in H.M. Services - a Drum Major, 1st Battalion. 2nd Queens regimont, he and Frances travelled to various parts of the world, they arrived in Western Australia on the "Naval Brigade" with 50 other men, Enrolled Pensioner Guards on the 23rd January 1874. The last Enrolled Pensioner s to arrive in the Colony. the name changed to enrolled Guards on the 11th November 1880.
Frederick and Frances arrived at Fremantle WA with five children, they had left England with seven,two were buried at sea.
Frederick and Frances were living at the Base Hospital in 1874, on the 11th JAnuary 1880 Frederick was shown on nominal pay roll as Enrolled Pensioner Force, Fremantle detachment (Ref BL144)
On 19 November 1880 they were shown tas occupying quarters wich consisted of two rooms, at no.1 Barrack, at Fremantle, with Frances Frederick and their five children all sharing these two rooms.
They were later found to be listed as living at lot 14 Swan Street, North Fremantle WA, in a cottage valued at 15 Pounds. The 35 lots had all been set aside for the Pensioner Guards, and they consisted of one acre. Lot 14 backed onto the Swan River.

Sarah Jane born 23/03/1862, William Henry born 1864, Frederick James born 16/10/1868, Henry Howard Pether (My Grandfather)born 8/06/1871, Ellen Elizebeth born 16/05/1873, Frances Louisa born 1876.
born 9th September 1904, at Claremont WA, died 7th October 1977 at Swan District Hospital Middle Swan WA.
Frederick James was one of twins his twin brother being Alfred Edward, died of Cancer at the age of 40 years.
Fredericks mother(Alice SMITH)passed away when he was 8 years old, his father could not take care of the children so they were placed in the Salvation Army Home in Collie WA.
Frederick remained there until he was able to go to work and support himself.
Frederick married Florence Murphy (Nee Hesketh), from Bellevue WA on the 12th January 1937. Florence had been married to Leo Timothy MURPHY, but he was drowned in the Clayhole at Bellevue WA. He had been celebrating the birth of their daughter Florence Mary Elizabeth MURPHY.(known as Betty).
Frederick James looked on Betty as his own.
Florence Murphy (Nee Hesketh) was born 28th May 1912 and died at the Midland nursing Home in Midland WA 1st September 1996, Florence was born in Bolton Lancashire, England.
Florence and Frederick had six children:
Norma Vivian born 20th October 1937, Kenneth Roy born 5th October 1939,Ronald Frederick born 11th MAy 1943, Glenys Kaye (yours truly) born 29th MAy 1945, Laurence Wayne born 15th May 1947 died 4th December 1995, Verna Joan born 29th July 1949.

Nothing more is known of him, but if you have followed the story so far, he is possibly one of the children who was buried at sea, while travelling to Western Australia from England with his family in 1874.
