Jean Andrew Gimar was a HE, not a SHE, born April 14, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa. to Lenice WalkerGimar and Clarence Harold Gimar, One sister, Janice Gimar Anton Graduated Theodore Roosevelt High School, June, 1940. Graduated University of Iowa, June, 1943. Served U.S. Army in the 10th Mountain and the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division, 508th Regiment, in the Battle of the Bulge. Remained in the Reserves for 20 years retiring in 1963. Married Joy Campbell Gimar June 11, 1949 3 sons, Jan, Joseph and Jeffrey Worked in retailing his whole civilian career, Younkers of Iowa, Macy's, Wiley's and Pegues department stores in Iowa and Kansas, retiring in 1985 as Vice President of Pegues. Spent the last 14 years of his life in Estes Park, CO among his beloved mountains. Died, August 30, 1999 Funeral Mass and internment, St. Bartholomew , the Apostle, Episcopal Church in Estes Park, Colorado Survived by wife, 3 sons, 3 grandchildren
