Summary

Frederick Hartsock from Bavaria, where the family served as protectors to the King, from what I found. My Uncle William was the chief of the Williamsport, Pa Fire Company, Frederick was my maternal grandfather, and his son, Frederick died young of birth defects. My mother, Florence Louise (Louise) died in Feb. 2000. My grandmother, Lottie (Bearley) died when my mom was 15, both died of stroke. My grandmother was a folk healer. Mom said she remembered people coming around all hours to ask for help, but she was horrified when an old mountain man we knew put tobacco juice on a wart on my knee when I was 9. It turned a lovely brown/black color! The wart then fell off.
