Beat the butter and sugar to smooth cream. stir in well beaten egg yolks and stir until very light sift dry ingredients together 3 times add alternately with milk to first mixture add egg whites which have been beat stiff & flavoring. 3 cups sugar, a little more than 3 cups molasses, 1 cup butter, flavor with vanilla. Boil until it will rope in water. Pour in tins & cut in squares.

2 cups molasses, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vinegar. Cook until it threads good. Before removing from fire put in 1/8 tsp soda. Pour on greased pans pull when cool. From the Recipe book of Besse Haskit Old.
