There he lived with two other tailors: Adam Helfenstein (?a relative?) and Conrad Lohr.
At some point Peter moved to Boston Massachusetts where he became a naturalized citizen. He married Catherine Hattick,(Hettich, Hattig, or some such)who was born in Baden Baden.
Peter and Catherine had several children: Louisa, Frank (my great great grandfather), Susan Helen, Susan May, Henry, John, Ferdinand, Christianna, and two or three others.
They lived mostly in the Roxbury section of Boston.
Peter's son, Frank married Nellie Sarah Tilton and had three children: Annie Josephine, Frank Tyler (my grandfather) and Howard Loud Helfenstein. In his thirties, Frank died of Typhoid fever, leaving Nellie with two young children and an infant. Nellie couldn't afford to feed three children so gave the youngest, Paul, away to a wealthy family, the Wade family.
Nellie married a widower, Hartwell I Bryant, who also had three children. Hartwell and Nellie had three of their own. Howard's name was changed to Paul Owen Wade. Nellie always kept in close touch with the Wade's and the family was connected at regular reunions.
Peter lived a long life and changed his career from Tailor to Teamster.
I have no idea what part of Prussia Peter came from and except for the fact that he was a Protestant and had been married before.
