NaDyne Anderson Hilbe was my mother. When young she was a professional singer, having her own radio show in Kansas City, MO during the early-mid 1930s. As a young child through teenage years she played the piano in movie theatres as background - she could always play by ear. She married and retired from her radio show about 1935. She soon divorced and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1936. She became executive secretary to the manager (Harry Boyle) of the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. She met my father, Rader J Hilbe in Phoenix; they married on May 5, 1939 in Las Vegas. When the war broke out they move to Santa Monica, CA. My father was a Supervisor of Engineering at Douglas Aircraft and a math professor at UCLA ; my mother worked at Douglas until about the time I was born Dec 30 1944. in Los Angeles. She stayed home to raise me. NaDyne was a remarkable woman, and an incredible singer and pianist. It was amazing. But foremost, I was fortunate to have her as my mother, and still miss her kindness and love. Joseph M Hilbe
