The Kiedaisch name originated in Kutai Austria. Kutai is a high alpine farming village outside Innsbruck that was settled in the early 1500's and people who lived in Kutai were called Kutaisch which translated in German means person from Kutai.
History
When the barbarians drove the Christian's out of Kutai the Kutaisch fled to Stuttgart Germany and settled in a small village called Owen Am Tec. Over time the name evolved to Kiedaisch by the U when written in German has 2 dots over it and looks like ie in script, changed to ie.

When one member lived in Wolfurt Austria, he visited both Kutai which today is a ski area and Owen Am Tech. There is a large population of Kiedaisch's in Stuttgart and Owen AM Tech with many buried in the Owen church cemetery from WWII.
His Great Grandfather emigrated to the US in the 1860's arriving in Chicago and settling in Kankakee Ill. He was a farmer and his son Herman Adolph Kiedaisch was his grandfather. His son Howard Astor Kiedaisch was born in NYC in 1919 and was his father.
