Updated Krisolofsky Biographies

Phil reported growing up on the West side of Chicago, IL, in a working class neighborhood. He spoke fondly of his childhood memories, especially of his friends, who remained his friends at least into the 80's; Tom Zarnek reportedly his best friend; Steve Werner, another. His father, Leonard, passed when he was young, but was said by Phil to have been a policeman. His closest family was his adoptive mother, Evelyn, and his beloved grandmother. Phil majored in Music at Roosevelt University of Chicago, IL, in the 70's. He did not complete his Bachelor's degree, although he was a straight A student. He also worked as a Brakeman for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. He mused that he was the only musician on the job there, often writing music in his spare time on layovers. He was married for one year to Audrey Melton, myself, (now, Audrey Abboud) as of February 1975, but the relationship spanned over a period of 5 years. The relationship deteriorated as time went on, in Audrey's opinion, as Phil suffered from severe depression and, finding it too difficult to reach out for help, was unable to accept Audrey's belief that support was needed. Phil also was known to play the bass guitar and was educated in writing and reading music. He was a friend and Roosevelt colleague of Ernie Denov, a lifetime career musician in Chicago, who was also a friend of Audrey and her brother, Robert, at that time. Phil was passionate about many things, including learning, the arts (especially music), and Libertarianism-Objectivism; an avid reader, including a love of the works of Ayn Rand. Phil was a great conversationalist and a warm, loving person, with a sharp wit and great humor, when he was not afflicted with depression. His passion was infectious. The last known by Audrey was that, having quit his only employment with the railroad to spend full time hours practicing counting cards with his best friend, Tom Zarnek, and then, finding that the odds were changed in Las Vegas, a downward spiral into depression set in, which found Phil staying in bed on a full time basis for months. Unable to convince Phil to go alone, or together, for help, Audrey left. To this day, however, Audrey has high regard for Phil's honesty, passion for knowledge and the arts, and remembers just how difficult it was to give up her passion for him. After the end of Audrey and Phil's relationship, it was heard through "the grapevine" that Phil eventually married a Southerner, but that they also ultimately broke up. It is strongly hoped that someone else will record more about Phil here and that he did not die alone. He was a very good-hearted, intelligent, and passionate person.
