The LaDriere dit Flamand family come from the Flanders region of Belgium and France. See more under history of Flanders. A number of La Drieres dit Flamand emigrated from Flanders to Quebec, Canada, in the 17th century. Many of later generations settled in the Lotbiniere province of Canada (south of St. Lawrence seaway) and migrated south through New Hampshire and other New England states. Another migration route was towards Michigan. Isolated offshoots settled in St. Louis Missouri and Albuquerque and Las Cruces New Mexico in the early and middle 20th century.
