Charles Paul Lattanzi, best known by the nickname "Chuck", was born to Italian immigrants Vincent Lattanzi and Rose Lattanzi in Portland Oregon. He had a sister Estelle, who was 5 years older than he.
When Charles was 10, he lived with his parents and sister in Portland Oregon. He was in the 4th grade and his father Vincent was a lumber grader in a lumber mill. His mom processed fruit in a cannery.
Ten years later, Charles was working 30 hours a week as a gas station attendant in Portland. He was still living with his parents and his sister who was working as a waitress.
Charles married Jeanette Slowikowski (1931-2014) in Portland, Oregon on November 17th 1951, and they had nine children. They were married for 57 years.
One of their children Matthew Vincent Lattanzi grew up to become an actor and dancer. He appeared in the 1983 comedy "My Tutor" and the Australian soap opera Paradise Beach.
