The Loesch name..prounounced ill-lOsh was a German/ Hesse name that's origins are from the Hesse and Palitinate ( Mountain Region of Germany near the Rhine River) that borders Alsace, France. The Loesch Family began emmigrating here to escape the Religious Reformations spawned by King Henry VIII of England who held lands in France and Germany. Our Loesch Family's religious freedoms continued to be subjugated by the English    Monarchy until the Reign of Queen Anne; who by Royal decree set many German families to the New World from New England to colonize the Pennsylvania Territories at what was called the Great German Migration of 1709. 
His Gr Grandfather; Johann Balthasar Loesch, his grandfather; Jacob I and an Uncle left family behind in late 1709 to seek a better life here. Only his Grandfather and Uncle made it from ship in early 1710, as Johann Balthasar Loesch...his Gr Grandfather became ill and was buried at sea in the Atlantic.
