The Loveng name is an anglification of the Norwegian name "Løveng", at times also spelled "Lauveng". 11 sisters and brothers of this poor peasant family in Stor-Elvdal, Hedmark County emigrated to the US. One sister remained back in Norway to take care of their old, widowed mother. She later married a returnee from the US of A, Ola Furuseth, and their oldest son Ola, became my father.
