Updated Molokach Biographies

My Mom grew up in William Penn section of Shenandoah and always talked about the 5 acres of land her father tended to when she was a child. She lived through the depression and said she never knew what the Depression was as they had a cow and chickens and garden so they were never without food. She married at 21 to my Father Ronald and they lived in a small apartment behind her Uncles store in William Penn. then my Grandmother(Clara Vislusky) bought and old bet up house in Patterson for my dad with 2 acres for $500 dollars and gave them it as a gift. My father loved to garden and every year he would get out his Spiegiel's Rototiller and plow 2 large fields for Corn, Tomatoes . Mom use to pick fresh apples off a large tree and make homemade apple pies. She also was amazing at making Pirogi's! I would watch her as a child roll out a table size piece of dough and lift it up in the air like a Pizza pie maker and flip it over to roll it again till it was so thin. We moved to Lanford,Pa in June of 1973. I remember being there just a week or so and Hurricane Agnes came . The streets were so overwhelmed with water, but our home was fine. I certainly missed our Pattersonville home and moving to the town was hard to adjust to Country people. But we did. Mom became good friends with Italian Neighbor Annie Fettis. Her husband was the towns Police Chief and Annie worked in a Sewing Factory. Annie always brought my Mom Italian Recipes and samples of her latest dishes. My Mom had always been a housewife but was lucky to get a job at a Custom Drapes Company and Lansford via a neighbor who also worked there. She was so delighted to learn to make Drapes for many people through the area and Allentown, Pa where the main store existed. She made the Auditorium's large drape for Marian Catholic School. Just think that was all hand made . When the company closed it's Lansford location Mom decided to be her own Business person and started her own little business at home. She made custom drapes for many people in the area. Eventually she retired from that job and worked in her later years in Coaldale at Head-start as a Teacher's aid. Then at St Michael's School in Lansford as a cleaning aide. She was born with a heart defect in which her heart leaked blood. She had that repaired for the first time in the late 1970's at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. It went well and she lived with the repair well until she needed another repair in 2020. That was when she had open heart surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown,Pa. The operation went well but she had a stroke a few weeks after the surgery because she had been off Cumadin. She was paralyzed on her left side of her body and had to stay in a Nursing Home for several months. She eventually came home and was taken care of by private aides. Then my sister Michelle took her in her home and cared for her with the aide. She died of a massive heart attach December 18th in the morning.
