Maternal grandparents: Wassili and Eugenia Gontschar (previously Gontscharov). Maternal family came to US in 1949 after WWII ended in 1945. (Taken by the Nazi regime from Ukraine in 1939 into Germany via cattle car train -- 2 week journey.)
Tania was born in Canada in 1951. She was educated and had specialty in Music. She was a beauty queen numerous times; she sang "Love Story" to my siblings and me each time we visited -- a song she sang in her pageants -- we were so moved, I will never forget those moments -- and my Dad (her Uncle Mike) still has recordings of her voice (as well as our grandparents -- on reel to reel). Tania was a beautiful girl inside and out. She was happily married to Bob, and adored her two little boys, Robbie and Michael -- amazingly beautiful children.
Tania left this earth way too soon. She left behind 2 little boys, and husband who loved her, a brother who adored her, and family who misses her, even today.
We are left with our memories of Tania. My Dad, Tania's Uncle Mike, can share wonderful stories about Tania's youth and her years growing up -- from living in Canada, to Maine, to Massachusetts, where she settled and had a family of her own.
Each time I hear the Moody Blues, I think of Tania, who loved their music and saw them many times in concert.
I have two little girls of my own (Tania and I are 11 age years apart), but I see the parallel of having two children, and Tania having gone "home" when her two boys were so, so young. (It's hard for my mind to even go there!)
I wish God's blessings and love on her sons, Robbie and Michael. I also wish peace and God's love on her husband Bob.
Now and again, I think about seeing Tania again -- as well as her mama, my (TyoTya) Anna (aunt anna), her/our grandparents (Dyedushka and Babushka) (Wassili and Eugenia Gontschar) and her papa (my DyaDya Nicholai Jerow) again. Until I do, and
