Lucio B Munar was born on December 7, 1910. He resided in New York and was a high school graduate. He worked as a chauffeur and driver. He enlisted in the US military on November 16, 1942 as a Selectees (Enlisted Men) component of the military and was assigned to the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA. He held the rank of Private and his service number was 32631724. He began his military service on November 23, 1942, just a week after enlisting. He served until September 8, 1945, when he was honorably discharged from the military. Lucio B Munar passed away on December 20, 1999 at the age of 89.

Catalina had many sisters who went on to marry very kind and prosperous men; it was the luck of the Lazaro sisters. All of the sisters received higher educations. Catalina earned her PhD in chemistry and later owned a pharmacy. She also earned a teaching degree. All of the sisters were musically inclined, most could play the piano. Later in life Catalina took voice lessons and would laugh while practicing ooh aah ah exercises. Although they had servants, their mother insisted the children washed the dishes, because 1/ she trusted them to do a better job 2/ it was discipline so they would not be spoiled. She married Feliciano Munar from San Fernando, La Union, a lovely coastal city. He was orphaned at an early age, also losing many of his siblings from the American wars of 1890s. He lived with relatives and cooked his evening meals alone after school, because everyone was working. This gave him discipline, and also somehow gave him a cheerful disposition. He completed high school, a big achievement for a poor orphan. He enrolled in the US Navy and retired as a master chief E-9. He married his first wife while stationed in Panama. She died, and he raised his two sons in the Philippines with relatives. He was aboard the USS St Louis during the Pearl Harbor attack. The Lucky Lou received 11 Battlestars, her captain a Navy Cross. In Malabon he met and married Catalina, where they had two sons. They moved to Vallejo CA, where they started a happy life. Feliciano was a 'people person' and he co-founded community organizations in Vallejo; among them the Filipino Community of Solano County, where he was elected many times as president. At first, Catalina was sad in leaving the Philippines. But they met many lifelong friends, among the literally hundreds of members of the various social organizations. She served as officer of some orgs. They met regularly at their homes. Often Feliciano with his retired military friends in poker games. They all were comares and compares to each other and God parents to their children. The clubs held gala balls and dances. Feliciano and friends would cook for 300, 500 or more of their closest friends. So Catalina was no longer homesick. Also, her beloved sisters and brothers in law eventually all moved to Vallejo and Los Angeles, San Francisco. She was truly loved by many and lived a happy, fulfilling life, surrounded by fun and true friends. It's doubtful her friends knew she had a doctorate because she didn't brag. Even her own sons didn't know that until they were adults and viewed her stored diploma from the University of the Philippines.
