According to information from oral tradition, the original Ogunnoiki is a very wealthy man from Ago - Iwoye. We were told that Ogunnoiki was a rich man and married many wives from different towns in Ijebu land. There was time that calamities befell Ogunnoiki and his children were dying. Ifa divinity was consulted, and he was advised to send back his wives and their children to their hometowns. Oral tradition was of the opinion that this was the genesis of the spread of Ogunnoiki descendants to the nooks and crannies of Ijebuland.
