MY GR-GR-GRANDMOTHER WAS MARY FOX PENNYPACKER. THE STORY IS THAT SHE CAME OVER FROM ENGLAND ON A SHIP WITH HER MOTHER WHEN SHE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD AND HER MOTHER DIED ON BOARD. HER COUNTRY OF ORIGIN WAS ENGLAND. ALTHOUGH HER NAME WAS FOX SHE WAS RAISED BY A PENNYPACKER FAMILY AND THAT WAS HER LAST NAME WHEN SHE MARRIED MY GR-GR-GRANDFATHER AROUND 1830 AND MOVED WITH HIM TO OHIO. HIS NAME WAS CHARLES L KLINGAMAN/CLINGERMAN AND HE LIVED IN COLUMBIA COUNTY PA.
THEIR SON ELLIS CLINGERMAN WAS CONTACTED SOMETIME AFTER HER DEATH AND TOLD THAT HE WAS THE THE NEXT IN LINE TO CLAIM AN ESTATE OF THE FOX FAMILY BUT HE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO ENGLAND TO DO SO. HE REFUSED AS HE WAS ELDERLY SO I ASSUME THIS WAS IN THE LATE 20'S EARLY 30'S AS HE DIED IN 1933.
WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO ESTABLISH MUCH INFORMATION BESIDES THIS AND THAT ON HER DEATH CERTIFICATE IT SAID SHE WAS FROM SHUYKILL, PA.
