Jan Popien,  Berlin, Germany, Co-founder of APE/ Managing Director/ A-P-E is a Senior team of Physicists and Engineers with decades of Research Expertise.  A gifted mathematics student, Jan began his academic career studying cybernetics and electronic engineering at TU Ilmenau. This led him to the Akademie der Wissenschaften, where he worked in the development department of the Zentrum für wissenschaftlichen Gerätebau (Centre of Scientific Equipment Design). It was here that Jan joined a team specialising in laser technology and diagnosis, a decision that was to lead to the creation of A·P·E. Berlin, Germany


Lawrence Thomas Popien (born August 11, 1930 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan) is a retired Professional Ice Hockey player who played 449 games in the National Hockey League.       He played with the New York Rangers and California Golden Seals.  Popien was ranked no. 91 on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the book (100 Ranger Greats) by John Wiley & Sons, 2009.
Elisabeth Popien (German Contralto) first studied church music at the Musikhochschule in Cologne and graduated in 1992 with the A-exams. Since the beginning of her studies, she sang as a chorus girl and as a soloist under conductors, dedicated to the historical performance practice, such as Jordi Savall, Philipp Herreweghe, Sigiswald Kuijken, Peter Neumann, Hermann Max, Roland Wilson among others. At the same time, she studied with Hans-Dieter Saretzki, Düsseldorf, vocals. Her artistic work is documented through radio and television, as well as numerous CD-recordings.
