Shemeley born August 28, 1930, and a younger brother Thomas G. Shemeley born December 28, 1926. While employed at Campbell Soup Company, Nancy attended Joel Spivak Modeling School in Philadelphia PA. She participated in runway modeling as well as Advertisements for Max Factor Lipstick. The school did provide a portfolio of photos and events to each enrolled student at the school. The school closed in 1970 and the building was torn down in June 1973.
