William E Rimer's parents were John Wesley Rimer and Sophia Mae Galbraith (1908 - 1963). When William was 1 years old he was living with his maternal grandparents Margaret Galbreth, 45, and Clyde Galbreth, 44, in Heath Pennsylvania. Also in the household were Margaret and Clyde's children: Sophia Rimer, 22, Helen Galbreth, 17, and Zora Galbreth, 13. Clyde was an engineer and Margaret was a cook in a boarding house. Ten years later, William was still living with his grandparents Clyde and Margaret in Heath and going to school. Also in the house was their daughter Zora Burkett, 22, and her daughter Sylvia, 11. Clyde was the only one working - he was a "stationary engineer" in natural gas. When William was 18, he completed a draft card for World War II on May 11th, 1947. He was living in Youngstown Ohio by this time and was unemployed. He was 5 ft 7 inches tall and weighed 195 pounds. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and a 'ruddy' complexion. His identifying marks were "cut scars on left thumb and left index finger, and left cheek". He listed his next of kin as Mrs. Thomas Wright, his mother, with whom he was living. William married Elaine Puscher (1932 - 2010) on May 9th, 1953 in Youngstown Ohio. They had 2 children, a son and daughter. William was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1953 to 1955. There are no other records of William's life until he passed in 2002.
