Leslie Rockar was the child of Jolana/Yolana Mihal (1895-1972) and Jan "John" Rockar. He was born on December 28, 1917 in Zelene, Czechoslovakia and had siblings William Ferdinand (1916-2002), Yolanda (1918-2011), and Tibor "ted" Rockar (1920-2010).
His Father was a farmer and an Inn Owner and his Mother was a Housewife. After the start of WWI, Leslie's father, John, was forced to leave his family, due to a death price placed on him by the Germans. He came to the United States in 1923, and established himself in Schenectady N.Y as a Butcher. Three years later, John sent for the rest of his family and they immigrated to New York.
After high school, Leslie began working for the General Electric Company and was trained as a Machinist. When WWII broke out, Leslie enlisted into the Army where he joined the 10th Mountain Division, fought in the Battle of Po Valley and was awarded multiple Bronze Stars for his actions.
On May 29, 1949 he married Joesphine Elizabeth Stuart (1926-2007). Together they had children including a son, John B Rockar (1955-2019) and a daughter named Linda.
Leslie Rockar passed away on March 9, 1995 in Rockledge, Brevard, Florida, USA.
