My great great grand father had a large piece of property in Magoula Attica Greece where he kept a large herd of sheep. He would go stay there with his herd during the summer months and he would come down to the village in late September. He clothing was very dirty and he hadn’t taken a bath for months. As he walk across the village square the villagers would say here comes Panos with the “routika” meaning with his dirty clothes. So from then on they call him Routis.

Peter Routis was born in Athens Greece. He moved to Toronto Canada in 1969. He completed high school at Central Technical School in Toronto and he went on to universities (York University, Guelph University and Wilfred Laurier university) to obtain a degree in English Literature and a degree in Computer Science. He is the author of the historical Novel “Free Besieged”, “Three One Act Plays” and the post apocalyptic novel “When the Earth Died” among other writings such as short stories, An Anthology of Poetry and film scripts.
