Maxine Mary (Sale) Glatthaar was born on July 24th, 1918 in Madison Heights, Virginia, to Auburn Boyd Sale (1881 - 1961) and Mary Lee Davis (1875 - 1946). Both of her parents were born in Virginia. Maxine had six siblings: three sisters, Bernice, Myrtle, and Mildred, and three brothers, Henry, Claude, and Earl Sales.
Mary Maxine Sale, age 21, married Edward Nelson Loving (1913 - 1961), age 25, a chauffeur, on December 7th, 1938 in Lynchburg, Virginia. They had one daughter and divorced on January 8th, 1944 in Virginia.
Maxine then married Louis W. Glatthaar (1916 - 1986). They didn't have children.
Later in life, Maxine moved from Virginia to Maryland and she died in Maryland at the age of 84. She is buried in Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, Howard County, Maryland.
