setlur or chitlur is in between tirupathi to kadappa route.40 kms before kadappa.there is an agraharam for vaishnavaites where ayyangar families lived.the agraharam and one Adikesavaperumal temple built by king Krishnadevraaya.there are Gramadevathas temple Irugulamma temple and sheethala maa temple.perumal temple is fully in dilapidated condition. because after tippy sultan period this place were owned by a muslim small king. that time one beautiful Ayyangar girl was chased by him and the local muslim king wanted her in his harem.so all ayyangar families vacated the place overnight and moved towards kanchipuram.one group via hospet and kolar moved to bangalore also. the whole place were infested by muslims and they occupied the agraharam and called it Hasnapuram

When females were targeted , the whole agraharam along with kainkaryam brahmins evacuated the village along with bag and baggage and decided to carry their clan name as setlur ( chitlur , chitthaloor ) like that so that later they will assemble to this place for renovation or kuladeivam worship etc.
